Saints & Scholars Integrated Primary School, Armagh

School Therapy Dog

Hamish is proudly sponsored by Mackle Petfoods, a fantastic local company based in Moy.

At Saints and Scholars, we are delighted to have Hamish as part of our school community. A standard poodle, Hamish is our school therapy dog, providing calm, gentle support to children throughout the school day.

Hamish has already made a wonderful impact. He brings comfort, reassurance and a calming presence to children across the school, helping them to feel settled and supported. Thanks to Mackle Petfoods, we’re able to keep him fully fuelled so he can continue this important work.  He absolutely loves his Naturo food- it’s a clean bowl every single time!

Hamish attends school twice a week (Thursdays and Fridays). Throughout the day, he may be out for a walk, spending time with children as they read, or working alongside individuals who benefit from a calm and reassuring presence. When he’s not on the move, he can usually be found relaxing in Mr Scott-Mulholland’s office. Hamish is always supervised and kept on his lead as he continues to work confidently within the school environment.

We have no shortage of children who are eager to accompany Hamish (and Mr Scott-Mulholland!) on his walks. However, we understand that this may not suit every child. If your child has a phobia of dogs, an allergy, or if you would prefer that they do not take part, please contact me via email at ascottmulholland193@c2kni.net and I will ensure appropriate arrangements are put in place.
