THE FRIDAY NOTE (28TH MARCH 2025)
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I trust that everyone has had a lovely week! This morning, our P2 class treated us all to a fantastic ‘Mother’s Day’ assembly- thank you P2.
Please find attached some important information for the week ahead!
THANK YOU!
A huge thank you to the kind parent who arranged to fix the potholes at the entrance of our school. We really appreciate this gesture!
SCHOOL GATES
As you know, we want to ensure our school is a safe space for our children. The main gates will be closed from 9.15am to 1pm each day. No vehicles will be admitted to school during this time with the exception of our dinner delivery.
If you need to collect your child between 9.15am and 1pm, please park along the Killuney Park Road and make your way through the pedestrian gate (closing it behind you) and report to Grainne in reception. If you need to get access to the school in your vehicle (in exceptional circumstances), please call reception (the number is displayed on a sign on the gate).
SUSTRANS: BIG WALK AND WHEEL CHALLENGE
It’s great to see more children walking, scotting or cycling into school each morning. Next week we will continue with the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel challenge! We’d love to see as many people getting involved as possible.
SMARTIES FUNDRAISER
The Smarties tubes (filled with 20ps) should be returned to school by 4th April! All money raised will go towards our Parents’ Council fundraiser. Thank you for supporting us!
EASTER EGG RAFFLE
Today we did our first draw of the Easter Egg raffle! Well done to our winners. Remember, tickets are 10p each and are available from our teachers. Draws will take place each Friday in assembly, until our final prize draw on Tuesday 15th April at assembly! This year the money raised will be donated to Nits and Natters who work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds for NI Breast Cancer charity ‘Pretty ‘n Pink’ and Southern Area Hospice.
This week we raised £186.62! Thanks to everyone who got their tickets!
CLASS ASSEMBLIES
Mrs McCormick’s class will be leading our Easter assembly on Friday 11th April. Parents of children in Mrs McCormick’s P6 class are welcome to attend- assembly begins at 9.30am each week.
As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or myself via Class Dojo. I am also out at the front of the school each morning and as much as possible each afternoon if you have any issues or concerns. If you have a safeguarding concern, Mrs O’Braonain (our Designated Teacher for Child Protection) can be contacted by email at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.
Have a great weekend and remember to put your clocks one hour on Saturday night!
