The Friday Note (14.03.25)

THE FRIDAY NOTE (14TH MARCH 2025)

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

I hope that everyone is looking forward to a restful long weekend! We had a bit of an eventful start to the morning with the electricity. I’d like to thank everyone for their understanding and for sharing the news with each other- this was hugely appreciated! Thankfully, school was able to open as usual when the electricity came back on before 9am and Mr McCadden’s class assembly was able to go ahead as planned!

Please find attached some useful information about the week ahead.

  1. PATRICK’S DAY

Just a reminder that school is closed on Monday 17th March for St. Patrick’s Day. School will reopen as normal on Tuesday.

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

School will close early on Tuesday-Friday to facilitate parent teacher interviews. Lunch will be provided as normal.

There will be staggered collection time as follows (the bus leaves at 1pm):

There will be a waiting club provided for children who are going to Fun4U at 2pm only. These children will be supervised in school until 2pm (when Fun4U begins) from Tuesday to Friday.

HOME TIME

Recently, we have seen an increase in children leaving school early. Missing even a small portion of the day can disrupt children’s learning and so we would ask that parents make appointments, where possible, outside of the school day. This will ensure the children are in school for the entire day and don’t miss out on any learning. Thank you.

PARENTS’ COUNCIL: QUIZ NIGHT

Calling all you eggheads, brainiacs and smarticles (as well as those who just like a fun evening out)- the Parents’ Council is hosting a Quiz Night! The quiz is adults only and will be held in The Marketplace Theatre, Armagh, on Friday 28th March- kick off at 8pm sharp. It is open to all so feel free to ask family and friends. Contact Amy if you’d like to reserve your place (07716331070).

UPCOMING CLASS ASSEMBLIES

Miss Macartney’s class assembly will be taking place on Friday 28th March 2025.

As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or myself via Class Dojo. I am also out at the front of the school each morning and as much as possible each afternoon if you have any issues or concerns. If you have a safeguarding concern, Mrs O’Braonain (our Designated Teacher for Child Protection) can be contacted by email at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.

Have a lovely weekend and a great St. Patrick’s Day!

Mr A Scott-Mulholland (Principal)
