THE FRIDAY NOTE (7TH MARCH 2025)
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I hope everyone’s had a great week! We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 6th March- thank you to Mrs McCormick for organising lots of fun activities for the children to do on the day! I’d like to extend a special word of thanks to Julie Bolton and the Parents’ Council for their work on the World Book Day costumes and book swap shop- they raised £55.
It was lovely to get into the Spring mood with our P1/2’s fantastic assembly this morning. It was lovely to see so many parents and family members there supporting the pupils!
I hope you find the following information useful.
Have a lovely weekend!
PARENTS’ COUNCIL: QUIZ NIGHT
Calling all you eggheads, brainiacs and smarticles (as well as those who just like a fun evening out)- the Parents’ Council is hosting a Quiz Night! The quiz is adults only and will be held in The Marketplace Theatre, Armagh, on Friday 28th March- kick off at 8pm sharp. It is open to all so feel free to ask family and friends.
Teams are limited to six people, with entry being £5 per person. To reserve a table or a spot at a table, message Amy on 07716331070. Seats are first come, first served and payment will be in cash on the night. As the Council’s main fundraising project for the year, all monies raised will go towards the new library area for the school.
Everyone received a tube of Smarties on Tuesday this week. Our Parents’ Council are asking everyone to fill their tubes up with 20ps and return to school by Friday 4th April. There will be prizes for the best decorated tubes. Thanks in advance for your support with this as we raise money for our new reading area!
P7 FOOTBALL SUCCESS
Well done Euan, Brodie, Ruairi, Charlie, Freddie, Harry, Rhys, Ollie and Josh! The boys travelled to the South Lakes Leisure Centre in Craigavon to represent our school in the Integrated Schools 5-a-side tournament last Friday. The boys played exceptionally well and won 5 out of 6 of their matches. Olly and Rhys won a trophy for the most clean sheets and Josh was second top scorer of the tournament with 11 goals! Go Saints and Scholars!
UPCOMING CLASS ASSEMBLIES
The following class assemblies will be taking place over the next couple of weeks. Parents of each class leading that week’s assembly are welcome to attend. Assembly begins each Friday at 9.30am.
VISITOR REMINDER
For the safety and security of our pupils, we kindly ask that all parents report to reception when arriving at school during the school day. It is important that everyone checks in with Grainne in the office before proceeding to any classrooms, including mobile classrooms. This procedure is crucial for safeguarding purposes.
Note: Nursery parents may proceed directly to the nursey mobile at home time and do not need to check in with Grainne first.
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Parent Teacher Interviews will take place from Tuesday 18th March to Thursday 20th March. School will close early (at 1pm) on these days and also on Friday 21st March. Lunch will be provided as usual.
There will be staggered collection time as follows:
The school bus will also leave at 1pm.
There will be a waiting club provided for children who are going to Fun4U at 2pm only. Children will be supervised in school until 2pm from Tuesday to Friday.
Parents who requested an appointment with their child’s class teacher will be contacted directly with the details and time of your appointments. Thank you.
SCHOOL CLOSURE ON ST PATRICK’S DAY
Just advance notice that school will be closed for St. Patrick’s Day on Monday 17th March.
UKULELE CLUB
There will no ukulele club on Tuesday 11th March.
As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or myself via Class Dojo. I am also out at the front of the school each morning and as much as possible each afternoon if you have any issues or concerns. If you have a safeguarding concern, Mrs O’Braonain (our Designated Teacher for Child Protection) can be contacted by email at aobraonain211@c2kni.net.
Have a great weekend,
Mr A Scott-Mulholland (Principal)
